Want Gourmet Marshmallow treats? I have 2 words for you: SWEET PETE’S! (<<–Hint <<–Click there to the left) And the most affable and kind guy in the candy business is none other than renowned confectioner, Sweet Peter Behringer, whose business was featured in 2014 on one of my favorite TV shows, The Profit. Frankly, other than Shark Tank, and an occasional House Hunters International, I rarely turn on the telly. Part of that’s because I don’t even have one half the year.
But anyway… Look – Anyone who saw “The Profit” on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 will understand this – but I have to give at least a minor explanation to those of our readers who don’t have any inclination to watch reality TV.

You see, The Profit is a TV show that features a very personable (and rather affluent) gentleman named Marcus Lemonis who puts his own money and business savvy on the line to help a company that he feels has potential.
I’ll put the clip from the 15-minute “teaser” 2014 video below, but suffice it to say that Sweet Pete not only won over Marcus’s heart, but viewers’ hearts nation-wide. Including this writer’s heart! (Note to self… figure out how to insert “heart” and “smiley-face” emoticons here…)
Anyway, to get back to the story at hand. Last night I watched the latest installation of The Profit (yes, I’m hooked!), and it started out pretty cool – a couple who had a marshmallow business needed help, and because Marcus already had experienced a wonderful partnership with Sweet Pete’s – well, it seemed like it would be a good idea.
Wrong…wrong…wrong… On so many levels. There is absolutely no way I’m going to get into it on MyFavDeals.org, because I just can’t. If you’re here, chances are you already know what happened. I’m not even going to mention the name of the company here, and you can be sure that we will not be promoting their products here.
The deal went south, and the premise that the marshmallow company approached the show with was fraudulent from the get-go. The Profit website explains here.
But, the astonishing thing was that during the episode, Peter Behringer – SWEET PETE HIMSELF came in – on Marcus’ request – to help the owners of the marshmallow company. And – bless his heart – and perhaps partly because it was filmed – Pete handled himself with such class and finesse, that even if I despised candy, I would go to his store and buy some in solidarity.
