Ok, onward… This is one of the most exciting products from VaporFi: their VOX series which includes the TC 50W device. It’s in honor of these mods that VaporFi first introduced a Reserve line of thick e liquids, now the Grand Reserve series of 6 sub ohm flavors, including some award-winning styles. But let’s focus on the VOX TC for now.
Style Let-down
As far as design goes, the VOX TC is a bit of a let-down. Metal accents interfere with what could have at least been clean lines. Those edges are too straight in my opinion and could have been rounded for the sake of comfort. Looks aren’t everything, however, and VaporFi’s adjustable mod has a lot going for it on the outside and inside.
More on the Outside
Before delving deeper, enjoy the screen. This feature lets vapers follow the technical behavior of their mod including wattage, voltage, and temperature. You can use the display to read if there is a malfunction or warning and also to determine when your cell should be recharged.
Removable Battery
Many APVs come with a battery base in which the cell is not removable. The whole thing has to be plugged into a charger and you can’t just swap the cell. Being able to replace a spent battery gives vapers the freedom to continue vaping wirelessly and portably.
The VOX TC comes with a removable 18650 cell but there is also a USB plug-in option and a cord supplied. Not only can you still recharge if you run out of replacement batteries, but it’s possible to use this as a pass-through device while it charges. Replenishing the battery will take longer, but you can use the power from your laptop directly.
Heat and Wattage
Select a wattage level in the VW setting as low as 5 watts and up to 50 watts by 0.1W for extreme precision. Change over the Temperature Control and select a temperature up to 600°F. A control board is monitoring settings and output all the time to achieve your selected value, preventing overheating or low voltage, and to make sure coil resistance is compatible with the machine. Problems with resistance, voltage, or reverse polarity could otherwise lead to a short-circuit but not with these protective features in place.
