This is a product near & dear to my heart: Soapberry Natural Dog Shampoo – and anyone who knows me knows that I shudder when I think of all the yucky ingredients in some dog shampoos. This particular product is fairly new to the natural dog care scene, but I happened to meet the person who is selling this, and she was explaining how effective it was on her own dog, and that was why she began to market the formula. She truly cares about the health of all life – both our own human lives, and the lives of our furry friends.
I also found a really good video review in the Amazon listing (I couldn’t figure out how to put the video in this listing, but if you go to the product page, and scroll down to the reviews, you’ll see it), and the product is definitely getting positive feedback. Ingredients on the bottle are: Distilled water, Soap Nuts Extract, Cocoyl Glucoside, Cocomidoproyl Betaine, Sodium Bicarbonate (food grade), Kuh-seng Extract, Frutus Cnidii Extract, Eucalyptus Oil, Corn Extract, Rice Bran Extract, Active Palm Oil.
So, as you can see, the primary ingredient in this delightful and all natural dog shampoo is derived from “soap nut” trees, or “Sapindus” – a tree found in southeastern Asia and other parts of the world, whose berries or “nuts” natural and very mild herbal surfactant that “suds up” and has been used by people world-wide (including Native Americans) for thousands of years.
It makes a nice suds, but not too heavily “sudsing,” which makes it easy to rinse. The reviewers were also saying that the eucalyptus oil leaves puppy smelling very fresh, but not overly scented. Soapberry Naturals really wants people to try this natural dog shampoo, and at the time of this writing is offering her product at a steep discount of 37% off the retail price of $29.95 – so it’s only $18.95 to try it – and it’s guaranteed! Doesn’t your four-legged companion deserve a high-quality and natural bath?
